Moving Day

Well if you haven't heard yet, we're moving! The house selling process has been long and stressful! We got an offer in just about a week, but the process of finalizing the sale has seemed like it took years. Maybe it's because we're impatient OR maybe it's because we have 3 foot monster running around getting into everything!

And plus having to hurdle and dodge boxes that are all over the house isn't an ideal living situation.

The first part of the selling process included keeping the house spotless so when someone wanted to come see the house we didn't have to clean. (That was super fun) But now we're to the point where we are trying to pack while Noah runs around and unpacks everything. (Even more fun!) The most packing we get done is when he is watching cartoons (which only lasts about 15 minutes), eating, or sleeping. Ha!

And as an added bonus this week were are also watching our parents black lab. So we have two black labs, a toddler, and Jake! Our house is a zoo right now, to say the least! The two dogs (who are crazy to begin with) and Noah, who now believes he can ride the dogs!

Yeah it's so much fun. Haha! We are super excited to move this Friday! So stay tuned for more about our move and new place!

Our Cheeky Picnic

Have you heard about Cheeky? If you haven't, well, you are about to! :)

They are this awesome brand that sells disposable paper and plastic tableware exclusively at Target. But here's the cool part; for every product purchased they donate a meal. They have already reached more than three million meals donated this year.

Right now they are doing some really cool things like partnering with Chef Mario Batali, their new Chief Culinary Ambassador. And they have their first designer collaboration with French Bull. We love their product and love the impact they are making.

So we were super pumped when they asked us to share what was in our picnic basket! This weekend we had a nice little brunch picnic. Mostly so this preggo mama wasn't out in the heat, but also because who doesn't love a good brunch.

We kept it pretty simple. We had toasted bagels with cream cheese, strawberry slices, and orange juice. The festive Cheeky line went perfect with our picnic gear and we had so much fun prepping for and having our picnic. We did learn however that Noah isn't great a picnicking. :) But that's ok because he's cute. Ha! Check out photos from our picnic below. Also be sure to check out the Cheeky brand if you haven't already! xo, Britt

Contain Kansas City

Yesterday we had the pleasure of attending the exclusive Blogger Preview for the The Container Store that is opening in Overland Park, Kansas! Neither me, nor Brittnee, had ever been to The Container store. Let me tell you, it is AWESOME! There was so many different organizing tools. And so many things I didn't know I needed until I saw them! I really can't even explain it, you should probably just go to the opening this weekend and see for yourself! Another reason to go on the opening weekend is that 10% of all proceeds go to Children's Mercy! How cool is that?

Now heres a sneak peek into a couple of cool things we saw yesterday!

This Time Around

It has been a little weird to consider myself high-risk. I had hoped and prayed that I wouldn't go through what I did with Noah this time. Still no one can say if it will happen again, but we are taking all of the precautions. Just in case.

It has been reassuring to know that if preeclampsia does happen again we should be able to catch it a lot faster and take action. I practically had a panic attack on the way to my first appointment, but by the end of that visit I was feeling confident and well cared for by my doctor.

The plan was that at 20 weeks we would start to keep a closer watch on me. (Preeclampsia usually doesn't start until after 20 weeks.) I would begin to visit my doctor every other week, start to get specialty sonograms monthly (later increasing to weekly), and get blood and urine tests ran to get a baseline to run future test by. Right on schedule my blood pressure started creeping up. So on top of the normal plan, I was also put on blood pressure medicine on top of my daily baby aspirin.

It has been six weeks since this kicked in and it has been interesting. I had to purchase a weekly pill box to make sure that I was remembering all of my pills. I have spent way too much time driving to the hospital to see my doctor and get sonograms, and it's about to get worse. But it is all worth it. Because it just reassures me that I am well taken care of and that I am taking all of the steps to make sure that me and little Sophie are healthy, and really that is all that matters.

I know that there are other women that have trouble with their pregnancies too, some a lot more than me, and that I am not alone. I just hope to share my experiences and my story to reach out to other moms like me. And to give others insight on what high-risk pregnancies can look like.  xo, Britt
